Chakra 2012.08 Claire (Arch+KDE/x86/x64) | 1.54 GB
Released a new release Chakra 2012.8 Claire, in memory of Claire Lotion. As in previous versions, Chakra GNU / Linux 2012.08 is no graphical interface for package management, because «Appset-qt, GUI for pacman, not processing complex updates properly.As the working environment will be used in the Claire series KDE SC 4.9.x. Among the new Chakra GNU / Linux 2012.08 - ported from Pardus desktop configuration tool «Kaptan» (in Chakra is called «Kapudan») and a new design theme «Dharma». Added means of notification of available updates for Simple Pacman - «spun». The assembly is built on the kernel 3.4.6 (optional kernel 3.0.35 is available).
In this issue, we offer:
• KDE 4.9.0
• Linux 3.4.6 (3.0.35 optional)
• Latest Grub2-2.00, including graphical dharma theme, Qt 4.8.2
• DVD image, including all locales and a nice selections of apps
• Kapudan, Chakra's desktop greeter, and all around first setup tool
• All new artwork called "Dharma"
• Enhancements to Chakra tools like cbundle / cinstall, welcome-plasmoid, tribe and the introduction of "spun"
• Updated xorg-server, and all the latest proprietary graphics drivers, including the all new catalyst-legacy
• Move to / usr / lib to prepare for systemd switch
Other features:
• Xorg 7.6 Stack with Mesa 8.0.3 and Xorg-Server 1.12.3
• Updated Xorg Drivers
• Added graphical choices, for use in Kapudan
• Move from cpufrequtils to cpupower
• Updated networkmanagement
