As a commando for the good guys, you'v e been briefed on a new device called Slipgat which can crack a hole in the time contiuum allowing time travel. But there's one problem An evil fiend or group of fiends called "QUAKE" , has figured out how to use Slipgates as well, possibly in an attempt to launch a surprise invasion of earth. Your mission is to find Quake, and take him or them OUT,using any means necessary... This is the game Quake with major graphical improvements, a high resolution texture pack and mods, all play using "darkplaces.exe"

Quake II takes place in a science fiction environment. In the single-player game, the player
assumes the role of a Marine named Bitterman taking part in "Operation Alien Overlord", a
desperate attempt to protect Earth from alien invasion by launching a counter attack on the
home planet of the hostile cybernetic Strogg civilization. Most of the soldiers are captured or
killed almost as soon as they enter the planet's atmosphere, so it falls upon Bitterman to
penetrate the Strogg capital city and ultimately to assassinate the Strogg leader, Makron.

Earth is under siege by an alien race. The Strogg are cybernetic warriors - a mechanical frame
and decaying body parts stabilized by flesh consumed in a systematic annihilation of other
species and civilizations. In a desperate attempt to survive a Strogg attack on Earth,an armada
of Earth's finest warriors is sent to take the battle to the Strogg home planet. Earth's initial
assault force is nearly annihilated immediately, but one marine manages to infiltrate the base
bring down their planetary defense systems, and kill the Strogg's collective brain and leader
the Makron. Earth assumed the destruction of the Makron would end it all, but it didn't.
